scary story

Yesterday, Sophia picked up one of my books and pretended to read the story to us.

S: once upon a time there was a best cook in the world. (looked at me) her name was Mom.

R: (laughing) so who’s mom is that?

S: our mommy

Both Ranen & I got distracted with something while Sophia continued to tell her story. Suddenly both Ranen & I heard …..

S: so Dopey got some toothpicks and use them to poke the people’s eyes



R & Z: (looked at each other)

S: and then Dopey used the toothpick to poke the people’s mouth, poke the people's ear, poke the nose and hands ……

R & Z: (looked at each other not knowing what to think or say)

Z: (cant take it anymore) .. Sophia, you started your story so beautifully about mommy who cooks so well. How did Dopey get into the story and became so scary that he went around poking people with toothpicks?




S: because I like scary stories. now there only six more people to poke.

R: (burst out laughing) no, girls don't like scary stories. only boys like scary story.

Z: (felt her skin crawling as this story was definitely getting too scary for her)

S: .. and Dopey stopped using the toothpicks to poke people anymore. the end. (big smile)

R: (laughing uncontrollably)

Z: (absolutely relived)
